POS monitoring system

May 2003 Surveillance

Available through Honeywell, MaxIPM is a new generation offering from the VCL MaxCom product family, delivering intelligent point of sale (POS) monitoring, data display and analysis for CCTV systems of any size.

The four camera, four alarm and electronic point of sale 'standalone' system is able to integrate with multiplexers and DVRs (digital video recorders) to create a small, but powerful system or it can be integrated into large systems seamlessly.

All interfaces are external and there are no electronics inside the terminal/cash register. The technology can interface to virtually any POS system, but it is not limited to POS - being able to integrate to devices that have a data output, such as scales, bar code readers, ATMs and weighbridges.

The system provides reporting that can be viewed or printed. All event details can be viewed or filtered by event or channel and an audit trail can be set for printing events as they happen. The system also generates an automatic 'end of day' event printed report that includes power downs, incorrect password attempts and manager menu access. All menus are password protected and with a facility to 'time out' to prevent interruption to normal surveillance if system is left in menu mode.
