Click on home Automation and security releases latest in remote control systems

May 2000 Residential Estate (Industry)

ClickOn Technology's remote control system provides convenient, reliable remote control of lighting, gates, garage doors, alarm systems and other appliances from a single remote control. According to ClickOn Home Automation and Security's Mark Watt the product range currently consists of:

* One, two and three-lever remote controlled light dimmers.

* One, two and three-lever wall-box transmitters.

* Remote controlled power switch.

* Code hopping gate/garage door receiver.

* 16-channel keyring remote control.

* 64-channel remote control.

Says Watt, "The light dimmers are easy to install; in fact no additional wiring is required if a ClickOn dimmer replaces a normal light switch. These dimmers are microprocessor controlled and have built-in radio receivers. Each dimmer unit can memorise 12 different remote controls or remote control channels in order to cater for multiple residents and or the simultaneous control of different dimmers from a single channel on the remote control.

"The wall-box transmitters contain the same technology as the remote controls but are packaged to fit standard 2 x 4 wall-boxes. They are also available in one, two and three-lever configurations. A wide range of applications is possible with this product.

"Multiway switching can now be achieved by simply installing a ClickOn light dimmer as a master switch and installing up to twelve wall-box transmitters in any location up to 30 m away from the master switch. No wiring between the wall-box transmitters and the master switch is required and voila ! 13 way switching with dimming capability from each of the switches is easily achieved," he says.

"Both the 16-channel keyring and the 64-channel remote controls are code hopping radio transmitters packaged in elegant yet very robust polycarbonate housings. They are extremely user-friendly and have illuminated keypads for easy night-time operation.

"Despite the power and flexibility of the system, installation and programming is a breeze. The modularity of the system allows you to start with a basic system and expand it as per your requirement," he says.

"Development by our team of highly skilled engineers will continuously enhance ClickOn to compete in the global markets for home automation and security and building management systems."

Concludes Watt, "Products currently under development include a low-cost standalone timer, a transceiver with RS232 interface and Automation software for PC platforms, and a range of low voltage light dimmers."
