Miro introduces Wavion

January 2012 Products & Solutions, News & Events

Wavion produces high-capacity wireless access products using advanced beam-forming technology to provide broad coverage to users. Wavion will help Miro address the growing need for broadband access in housing estates, business parks, campuses and suburbs, as well as the demand for large hotspots and 3G offload, says Bertus van Jaarsveld, CEO of Miro Distribution.

Wavion is a technology leader in outdoor Wi-Fi applications for metro and rural areas with deployments in more than 70 countries. The company’s two-way digital beam-forming and Interference Immunity Suite are the first and only technologies to resolve the significant performance, penetration and profitability challenges facing large-scale metro and rural deployments.

Featuring the WBS omni-directional and sector base stations, which operate in the license-exempt 2,4 GHz and 5,8 GHz bands, Wavion provides solutions including access, backhaul, CPEs, NMS, service provisioning and billing.

Wavion’s solutions enable service providers, communities and enterprises to deliver high quality service in urban and rural applications while reducing CAPEX and OPEX by more than 50%.

Technology benefits

* Extended coverage and NLOS operation.

* Up to three times the coverage as compared to competing products, with homogeneous coverage, even in NLOS conditions.

* Enhanced capacity and throughputs.

* More users per node, and better QoS.

* Superior indoor penetration.

* Superior connectivity to indoor users from outdoor-located base stations.

* Fastest return on investment.

With fewer sites per square km, higher network reliability and enhanced quality of service, Wavion provides up to 50% savings in CAPEX and OPEX and the fastest ROI.
