The Security Industry Alliance (SIA) and Chubb Fire and Security South Africa have paid tribute to one of Chubb’s response officers (RO) who was killed whilst on duty last year.
RO Pragasen Naidoo was tragically killed in the early hours of 22 November last year when his response vehicle was struck head-on by a stolen vehicle driven by two suspected hijackers in Old North Coast Road. The hijackers were being chased by the Durban dog unit after stealing a car in Phoenix. RO Naidoo died on impact while the two hijackers burned to death when their car caught fire.
Each year the Security Industry Alliance (SIA) calls for nominees from the security industry for their special award category. This year Chubb Fire and Security nominated RO Naidoo as this year’s award recipient. At their annual banquet held in Johannesburg recently the SIA paid tribute to Naidoo and granted the award to his family.
32-year old Naidoo had been employed by Chubb Security for almost two years. He is survived by his wife and two young children. The management of Chubb Fire and Security KwaZulu-Natal presented the cash award to his wife in Durban recently.
