Schneider Electric SA announces Martin van Zyl as GM

Schneider Electric South Africa has announced the appointment of Martin van Zyl as general manager for the mining, metals and minerals (MMM) segment.

Van Zyl joined Schneider Electric South Africa four years ago as a strategic accounts manager. Prior to his appointment, he gained more than 10 years of experience in the MMM, cement, power, paper and pulp, food and beverage, manufacturing and water and wastewater industries.

His areas of expertise include comprehensive automation and control solutions encompassing vertical integration of MES-Energy-MV distribution and intelligent motor control centres. In his new capacity, he will be responsible for the complete MMM segment for Schneider Electric South Africa. “My primary objective will be to actively drive sales and capture market share from our competitors in the MMM segment,” says Van Zyl. “The initial focus is to ensure that our MMM clients and consultants understand the comprehensive solutions and capabilities that we have to offer and our long-term plan is to retain our brand leadership position and accelerate our growth in the MMM segment through total project solutions.”
