Eazi Access Rental improves warehouse safety

November 2011 Surveillance, Fire & Safety

The continuous and efficient operation of a warehouse relies on installation and facility maintenance procedures to be kept as non-disruptive as possible. This is why, when a leading logistics company installed CCTV cameras in its warehouse in an attempt to curb theft, Eazi Access Rental’s 15,5m electric boom lift became the solution of choice.

Eazi Access Rental’s national industrial manager, Clinton Cousins, explains: “Our 15,5 metre working height electric boom lift has the ability to reach up and over warehouse racking, allowing the machine to be driven into position and raised to the desired height for completing the installation quickly and efficiently.”

With reach of up to 15,5 metres, this electric boom lift also features an ‘up-and-over’ capability for easily navigating around and over obstacles

These features permitted the Eazi’s client, who manages some of South Africa’s biggest and busiest warehouses, to install security cameras in record time with minimal disruption to normal warehouse operation. Other maintenance tasks that were performed included work on lights and fire and smoke detectors.

The emission-free 15,5 metre electric boom lift features a lift capacity of 227 kg, and extended working hours with its deep-cycle batteries. It is also manoeuvrable enough to operate in a warehouse where narrow aisle spaces make access difficult.

“The realisation that using rented mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) is a cost-effective and highly efficient solution to working at height is gaining ground, and we are meeting this growing demand with our range of comprehensive solutions we have on offer nationwide,” says Cousins.

“We also train operators in line with the National Qualifications Framework 243272 for even greater safety and efficiency; regardless of short-, medium- or long-term rental agreements,” concludes Cousins.
