The Facilities Show Africa: Addressing industry challenges

July 2011 Calendar of Events, News & Events

Working in an economic environment which is still feeling the aftermath of the global economic downturn, local facilities management (FM) professionals need access to the most suitable, cost-effective, and energy efficient products and services available today in order to provide their organisations with the best possible services.

“Which is why FM professionals from across the country will attend South Africa’s very first Facilities Show Africa in September this year,” says Ross Cullingworth, director - Sales and Marketing at Montgomery Africa, the organisers of the Africa’s inaugural Facilities Show.

“FM professionals, whether in-house or outsourced, are faced with a growing number of operational challenges,” says Cullingworth. “Whether grappling with equal access to their buildings, health and safety obligations, recycling and waste management targets or a mounting range of economic and legislative pressures, FMs need suitable and relevant guidance and advice to stay on top of their profession.”

Keeping up with the latest industry developments and innovations is key, and as the challenges for FMs continue to build, the Facilities Show Africa, taking place from 6-8 September at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand has much to offer FM professionals.

This industry event will provide a launch pad for an enormous variety of innovative products and services showcased by a multitude of industry leading exhibitors, eager to demonstrate growth and diversity within the burgeoning African facilities management industry.

Visitors from numerous FM sectors will have the opportunity to explore the very latest in facilities services right through this three-day event, delegates will also benefit from the free educational content and the opportunity to research and source products from hundreds of exhibitors. These dedicated features will highlight advice, products and services in response to the ever-growing industry challenges.

“Our exhibitors are at the forefront of shaping this industry,” says Cullingworth. As FM professionals are increasingly turning to innovation to make their organisations more efficient, sustainable and productive, the power of innovation will be evident throughout the exhibition as well as in the numerous educational sessions outlining the best ways for facilities professionals to keep abreast of new and emerging technologies.

The Facilities Show Africa is co-located with Africa’s biggest security event, IFSEC SA 2011, as well as the OSH Expo Africa. These two premier events will attract thousands of professional from the security and health & safety market. With many of these professional having major purchasing power within their organisations, delegates will have free access to the Facilities Show as well. In fact all pre-registered visitors will have complete access to all three expos throughout the three-day event.

Furthermore, the Tshwane leg of the Gautrain will be fully operational and so thousands of visitors to the show will benefit from the convenience of gaining easy access to all three shows via the Gautrain and dedicated shuttle service from the Gautrain station in Midrand, which will take visitors straight to Gallagher Convention Centre.
