RedLinX Embedded Solutions have released the first ruggedised solid-state drive with In-Drive UPS and Secure Erase technology. This forms part of the GTR-18 series SATA SSD, offered with single-level cell (SLC) NAND flash type. It has been made available through Memoright, a leading manufacturer of military grade solid-state drives (SSDs).
This GTR-18 series SATA SSD incorporates unique In-Drive UPS technology which allows high-speed sequential read and write as well as 'no data loss' at the event of a power failure. Furthermore, the GTR-18 series SATA SSD is equipped with exclusive constant speed performance. All of these attributes makes it perfect for RAID in military, aerospace and marine electronic devices.
Featuring a SATA 2 interface, the GTR-18 series SATA SSD is optimised for high performance and has the following capabilities: up to 10 000/0,5K IOPS read/write, 120 MB/s sequential read/write and high capacity (up to 64 GB). Memoright also provides 10 types of multimodule data security and erase mechanisms, including a military quick erase system, which can be operated easily by either pressing buttons or activated under software control.
Comments Sean van der Walt, managing director of RedLinX, "The GTR-18 series SATA SSD will supply high reliability, constant performance and great stability to any mission critical application and ruggedised environment."
The GTR-18 series SATA SSD meets the US MIL-STD-810F/G and Chinese GJB-150 standards and can be applied to Atom-based small military computers, ruggedised tablet PCs and other handy systems.
"RedLinX, will be exhibiting at the Africa Aerospace & Defence 2010, which will be held from 21-25 September 2010, will showcase an array of Memoright military, industrial and enterprise level ruggedised solid-state drive products," concludes van der Walt.
