Rainbow’s outdoor camera with integrated IR illumination allows integrators to lower installation costs and also reduce on-site engineering time so that there is minimum disruption to the end-user’s activities. Rainbow is represented in South Africa by Inhep.
This 0,3-inch colour Sony Super HAD II CCD unit offers 600 TVL or 700 TVL in black and white mode. The 200-foot range makes it suitable for many external applications including perimeter surveillance at custodial sites and major infrastructure locations.
Image quality is optimised by 3D digital noise reduction (DNR) that is adjustable across 32 levels while digital wide dynamic range gives flexible optics performance. Control is from an on-screen display menu and the camera unit proves robust and weatherproof in demanding environments with built-in heater and blower.
This is an NTSC unit that will operate at minimum illumination of 0,15 lux (F1.2) or 0 lux with IR. Integrators working at sites featuring private areas will benefit from the 12 privacy masking zones and there is 256-point blemish compensation. The camera operates from 12 VDC/24 VAC and weighs 14 oz (400 g).
Rico Martinez, sales and marketing VP at Rainbow CCTV, said: “Being able to obtain this range of functionality from a single unit has benefits in heritage areas since avoiding the need for a separate IR lamp with its own bracketry means less visual impact on the architectural environment.”
