Infinova bridges gap between IP and CCTV

Infinova has announced that it will introduce its new V1720N-M Series high speed indoor IP PTZ dome camera, which integrators can provide customers wanting an easy transition from analogue CCTV systems to IP-based digital video surveillance solutions, at IFSEC in Birmingham, England 10-13 May in Booth # 5F10.

With the V1720N’s built-in software, users can view, control, and even program the IP PTZ domes from a PC connected to a workstation using a standard web browser and Infinova’s on-screen simulated keyboard.

“The V1720N is another camera solution that will help integrators provide their customers with a cost-managed approach for migrating to IP,” emphasises Mark S. Wilson, Infinova vice president, marketing. “Infinova wants to enable organisations to move to IP as budgets and requirements dictate while also extending the life of their existing analogue surveillance systems.”

Leveraging a digital video output utilising MPEG4/MJEG compression, users can obtain high quality video at up to 30 fps with the new V1720N cameras. Infinova’s V2216 network video management software can be used directly with the new domes to provide an online virtual matrix switcher. In conjunction with other VMS suites, video can also be recorded on a dedicated server.

The new indoor domes also feature programmable motion detection to become an integral part of an intelligent video surveillance system. To assure that no video is lost if there is a network breach, SD storage cards are provided.

Integrators and their users can choose among 18 x 12, 22 x 12, 23 x 12, 26 x 12, 35 x 12, and 36 x 12 optical/digital zoom, ensuring that they can find the right camera for each application.

The new PTZ dome cameras also provide 360° continuous panning at high megapixel resolutions and 90° tilting. Pans can be as slow as 0,5° per second to a high of 240° per second in manual operation.

To make integrator installation easier, the new dome cameras feature both IP and analogue outputs. During installation or maintenance, integrators can attach a portable test monitor to facilitate easy and fast focusing. The dual-output cameras let the user record on both NVRs and DVRs, even at the same time if wanted.

The cameras can be vandal-proofed, handle hot and cold extremes and have IP66 and IP67 ratings, protecting against water and dust.
