Milestone-Honeywell alliance

March 2010 News & Events

Milestone Systems has signed a Milestone Manufacturer Alliance Partner (MAP) agreement with Honeywell. Milestone will provide XProtect software support for Honeywell’s IP product offerings to fulfil the growing market demand for IP surveillance solutions.

Milestone currently supports a number of Honeywell camera models and the new agreement will extend coverage to more Honeywell offerings. The open platform architecture of Milestone XProtect IP video management software also provides the ability to integrate with such products as access control and intelligent analytics, which fits well with Honeywell’s product portfolio.

“The synergies between Honeywell products and the Milestone sales channels will give customers real added value from our combined solutions,” says Henrik Friborg, VP strategic alliances and co-founder of Milestone Systems. “Customer projects have been implemented in various regions over the years incorporating both of our companies’ products, but now we will focus on this in a cohesive effort where we leverage our mutual strengths proactively.”

“As a leading manufacturer of security systems, Honeywell is integrating the latest in digital and IP technology with traditional analogue components, enabling end users to better control operational costs and maximise existing investments in surveillance equipment,” said Don Roberts, strategic corporate accounts, Honeywell. “Our products, combined with the Milestone open platform, will further allow customers to meet their existing and emerging security challenges with complete systems for virtually any installation need.”

The top-of-the-line IP video management software solutions from Milestone Systems are XProtect Corporate and XProtect Enterprise, available in more than a dozen languages. These platforms manage unlimited numbers of cameras, users, servers and sites, with full integration capabilities to other security systems and devices through application programming interfaces (APIs), available in the documented Milestone SDK. XProtect Professional and XProtect Basis+ manage up to 64 and 25 cameras, respectively. This flexible, scalable choice for security systems means that customers can implement a best-of-breed solution that fits their needs most optimally today and for the future.
