February 2003 Access Control & Identity Management

Netstar, specialist in vehicle tracking and recovery has introduced an all-girl team in the sky.

In the case of a theft or hijacking incident the helicopter pilot and air tracker are notified and dispatched immediately. Within a few minutes they are airborne and heading to the area from where the control room is receiving signals or the incident area to commence the search.

Using Netstar's unique mobile tracking equipment they physically track the vehicle and once they have the vehicle in sight they are able to identify the vehicle by activating the recovery lights and can immobilise the vehicle, depending on the Netstar system installed. They then guide the ground crew to the vehicle who do the physical recovery. To date Netstar has recovered more that 14 500 vehicles valued at R1,750 billion, and has a subscriber base of over 220 000 valued at over R26 billion.
