ADT Security clinches excellence award

December 2002 News & Events

ADT Security, one of South Africa's leading security companies operating in both the residential and commercial markets, has received a Diamond Arrow award and a Golden Arrow award for excellence in alarms and armed response.

The awards, which are made annually by Professional Management Review (PMR) magazine, are carefully researched and include the comments and opinions of a panel of senior corporate decision-makers who judged suppliers and service providers operating in the security industry. The respondents included security managers, risk managers, directors and general managers.

A Diamond arrow award is only given if a score above 4,11 out of 5 is achieved. It is the highest award made by the magazine.

Respondents in the 'alarms' category were asked to rate several security companies across a range of 14 attributes. These included: quality of installations; speed of response/attitude/effectiveness; confidence in reaction service; ongoing maintenance/after sales service; quality and reliability of equipment; false alarm rate; commitment of management; innovative solutions to client needs; effectiveness of alarm monitoring; range of products and application; national coverage; technology and value for money.

Armed response judges were asked to rate seven attributes including reaction time; efficiency/attitude of reaction personnel; effectiveness of armed reaction; confidence in the reaction service; commitment of management; national coverage and value for money.

"The awards are a reflection of our commitment to our clients. Not only do we aim to provide innovative and effective solutions to our client's security needs but we aim to do so with integrity and discipline. It is very gratifying that our commitment to client service and doing the job of effectively securing both people and property has been recognised in this way," says Danna Strydom, managing director of ADT Security (South Africa).
