Remote tracking intelligence

Skygistics has enabled a corporate security company to equip its roaming guards with remote movement and event monitoring live tracking systems. Lylacorp can now monitor the status and safety of each guard in real-time from remote locations on desktop and mobile devices.

Lylacorp provides complete security solutions and services to the corporate, small business and homeowner, including wireless video verification (no false alarms), electric fencing, CCTV monitoring and e-guarding.

The devices have been programmed to function as lone-worker trackers within fully-parameterised geo-locations, ensuring guards execute patrols as required, and as a panic (SOS) button. With the ‘man-down’ feature, the units will also create alerts for abnormal movements that could represent a stricken guard, requiring immediate action. The Skygistics solution means on-duty guards can constantly remain in contact with a central control station, improving both guard and asset safety.

The system has been designed such that predefined event triggers are sent to the nearest guards, who can then assess and initiate the appropriate medical, tactical and/or armed response required.

Lylacorp will be using the Skygistics Guardian 600 and 700 terminals. These terminals are specially designed to provide monitoring and surveillance of workers and security personnel, sportspeople, the elderly and children. The terminals support incoming text messages sent from the remote tracking application (or regular cellular device), and can store up to four pre-programmed emergency numbers for rapid support and medical and/or mechanical response.

As the terminal’s battery life can also be monitored remotely, Lylacorp can easily ensure that each tracker is fully operable at all times, maximising the level of security the company offers to clients.

The remote Guardian units, which are little bigger than a credit card, can be programmed to function in a variety of ways and generate a range of reports and actionable data. This data includes geolocation audits; emergency event notifications; geo-fence boundary crossings; and scheduled GPS reporting based on time, distance and changes in direction.
