Logical access from Tools4ever

1 April 2014 Access Control & Identity Management

Tools4ever was founded in 1999 to assist organisations manage Banyan vines and Novell networks. With the advent of Windows NT, the focus shifted to that platform.

The company is focused on simplifying the work of system administrators by automating the repetitive processes of managing user accounts in Active Directory and numerous other systems. It also assists in reducing the help desk load by providing employees with self-service tools to reset their passwords – up to 40% of calls to the help desk are password related.

Tools4ever’s core business offerings include a combination of robust software and consulting services in the Identity and Access Management (IDM/IAM) market. Tools4ever’s Identity and Access Management software applications have been installed in organisations varying in size from 200 user accounts to over 300 000 user accounts.

Additionally, Tools4ever provides self-service tools to allow employees to request access to data and applications in a secure methodology with appropriate approval processes.

Jacques Vriens, founder and CEO, established Tools4ever in 1999 and has expanded it into a global software company. The initial focus was on tools for system administrators but building upon the knowledge and experience gathered in the early years, he quickly expanded the product portfolio into identity and access management.

The products the company offers include:

* User Management Resource Administrator (UMRA) – A complete lifecycle management solution for user accounts in Active Directory, Exchange, Google apps, SAP, Office 365 and connectors to over 80 other systems and applications.

* Self Service Reset Password Management (SSRPM) – An enrolment-based solution that allows users to reset their own Active Directory password by answering a series of challenge questions. Connectors allow us to synchronise password to numerous other systems and applications.

* Enterprise Single Sign On Manager (ESSOM) – A secure solution to reduce the number of logins an employee needs to remember down to one. Automated login via smart cards and follow me support for Citrix clients are fully supported.

Vriens says the company is growing rapidly in the US and international markets and expect to double in size over the next three to five years, both in terms of revenue and employees. “We will continue to develop innovative solutions in the identity and access management space to assist current and future clients.”
