Suprema launches new fingerprint module

Suprema recently launched the SFM 5000 Series fingerprint module which offers faster speed through powerful DSP and itsimproved algorithm.

The new SFM5020-OP fingerprint module features range-leading 533 MHz DSP optimised for performance while minimising power consumption.

It has a high precision optical sensor, which offers superb image quality and has a highly durable sensor surface. This module provides improved accuracy on wet fingerprints, fast power-on time and is suitable for high-volume processing.

With the enhanced DSP and optimised algorithm, the new module offers 30% faster enrolment and 20% faster identification time than its predecessor (SFM3000 Series).

The SFM5000 Series features Suprema’s FIPS201 approved algorithm, which is compliant with ISO and ANSI standards. Suprema’s algorithm has been ranked top in a number of international algorithm performance tests such as FVC and MINEX.

As a core processing engine of biometric devices, the Suprema SFM Series modules have been selected by top tier multinational manufacturers such as Siemens, Fermax, Hitachi, Tyco and Samsung.
