GSM outstation

The IDS GSM Outstation, locally designed and manufactured by Inhep Electronics, connects to the line terminals of alarm panels and provides a wireless connection to the security monitoring company over a GSM phone network, using GPRS technology. A serial interface on the communicator is designed to connect to the IDS 816EX, IDS1632 alarm panels, providing additional functionality, including upload/download, programming and event log access.

The unit offers distinct advantages to fixed line or simplex radio solutions including fast full-duplex GPRS communication, contact ID, confirmation for every message, transmissions that are virtually impossible to block and possible third party monitoring for all signals. The addition of a line fault module allows the alarm panel dialler to automatically switch between fixed telephone lines and the GSM communicator. This allows dual reporting using fixed line and/or mobile phone network. It also offers redundancy – should the fixed line become unavailable, the line fault module automatically switches the dialler to the GSM communicator.
