Securex 2004 receiving strong support

November 2003 News & Events, Residential Estate (Industry)

Securex 2004 will mark the nine-year anniversary since the first show was staged. To take place from 3-5 March at Sandton Convention Centre, Securex 2004 has received strong support from loyal exhibitors and is attracting an increasingly large number of new participants as well.

Defence Concepts SA who offer security window laminate will be making use of Securex's business platform to launch a new product into the market - PROFILON tempest EMI/RF window shielding protection, effective security against unauthorised access to computer data via windows. "We have exhibited at Securex for the past three years and have ensured that we have booked our space for next year as Securex provides the right customers for our products and gives us excellent exposure," says Fred Bengsch, director of Defence Concepts SA.

As the premier security show in the country focusing on security, fire protection and safety, Securex attracts a variety of exhibitors which cater for the broader industry. Texecom SA, suppliers of security equipment to installers and distributors will be exhibiting for the third year. John Rogers, MD of Texecom SA believes it is important to have a presence at Securex. "By exhibiting at Securex we create awareness of our company and its products and it is an opportunity for us to keep abreast of the growing industry."

Long time supporters Sesco Security will also form part of the portfolio of quality exhibitors at the show next year. "Securex is a great medium for us to show our new products, meet with clients and source new business," says Robin Albany, MD of Sesco Security. Other exhibitors joining the ranks include Bosasa Security, Cochraine Steel, Camtronic, Global Communications, Elvey International and Telkom SA.

International support

Securex's reputation has stood it in good stead to encourage participation from companies abroad. Agents from Italy, China, Taiwan and the UK have expressed a keen interest in bringing exhibitors over to South Africa. Confirmed international bookings include Antonin Bernard-Beril SA from the Czech Republic and Spanish company Fermax Electronica. "Fermax Electronica is a leading designer and manufacturer of audio and video door entry systems, audio-video communication digital systems and electronic and video access systems. We participated at Securex for the first time in 2003 and believe it is important to exhibit once again as South Africa is an interesting market for our company," says area manager, Gunder Holst.

The concept of the ESDA village is again proving to be popular amongst smaller exhibitors. HBA Direct and Security & Communication Warehouse are just two of the many companies who will be exhibiting in this niche area of the show.

Lynn Chamier, director of Exhibitions for Africa cites several factors which make Securex an ideal place to market ones products and ultimately to generate business. "Exhibitions give the discipline of marketing a human dimension which is key to the success of any business and we believe Securex offers the opportunity for personal interaction between companies and their existing clients, potential clients as well as contact with their competitors or counterparts. Securex has earned its reputation as a quality trade show which offers return on investment by getting a range of diverse exhibitors on board and by attracting quality visitors to the show."
