Limtech places its finger on the access control market

October 2002 Access Control & Identity Management

Fingerprint verification technology is gaining increased acceptance in today’s mainstream of business. For example, in the retail, financial and service industries, fingerprint recognition products are being applied more and more to time and attendance management.

One such product is the Biolink Biometric Access Control solution developed and manufactured by Limtech Biometric Solutions, which not only provides for restricted access for certain personnel, but also provides a full time and attendance facility for monitoring staff movements throughout the office.

Flagship solutions

Limtech Biometric Solutions, situated in Illovo Johannesburg, was established in 1999 to take advantage of local and international product opportunities that arise within the technology industry. Limtech prides itself on two locally developed and manufactured flagship products viz:

* Biolink Access Control: Biolink is a standalone biometric access control product supporting single door access control systems right up to large installations over an extensive network. Each unit can store and process up to 4900 fingerprints and 7000 data logs on board. Proprietary software, developed by Limtech, provides all access functionality with user time restrictions and an extensive reporting structure to monitor user movements. Installation of client software across a network allows realtime administrator control from a number of terminals.

* Biometric Clocking Station: Limtech has also manufactured a standalone Biometric Clocking Station that provides authentic user verification. The system is powered by state of the art Clockwatch software with complete time and attendance functionality and export to a wide range of payroll systems in the market.
