Video perimeter for port

CCTV Handbook 2015 Surveillance, Surveillance

Managers at a large seaport in Spain needed to upgrade the video surveillance system. With an emphasis on heightened perimeter security and integration, a mix of Pelco IP cameras, HD domes and thermal imaging provided the needed solution.

This upgrade required that all new cameras integrate completely into an existing Fortis 4 G-based security management and control system. It was critical that all camera administration, control and storage be made in the management software, where the system aggregates data from multiple security sub-systems in real time, in order to enhance site managers’ situational awareness.

Pelco Spain worked with integrators to propose a solution to meet the port’s specific needs, providing the video quality and functionality required, all integrated within the management software.

The Pelco ONVIF Profile S compatible cameras fit seamlessly into the solution. Extensive testing has been carried out to assure full platform functionality including video analytic compatibility.

More than 75 Pelco cameras were installed at the port, including Sarix thermal imaging cameras, Spectra HD domes, professional mini domes, and fixed IP cameras, mounts, enclosures and lenses.

Products used

• Sarix TI314 and TI350 thermal imaging cameras.

• Spectra S5220 and S5230 HD dome systems.

• IMPS110, IMP1110, and IMP319 Mini domes.

• Various Pelco mounts, enclosures and lenses.
