Automotive firm tracks T&A

1 October 2014 Access Control & Identity Management

AWM360 Data Systems has supplied its client, a well established international automotive engineering company, with a solution to effectively address a requirement for enhanced SAP-certified integrated time and attendance and access control solution nationally.

The client is focused on unique systems competence in the combustion engine and engine peripherals. It has presence in Durban and Port Elizabeth and has a staff complement of approximately 2000 employees.

In line with the global holding company’s strategy regarding its workforce management needs, AWM360’s client looked to the market and a potential partner to provide a scalable solution with hardware that would suit its production environment and its overall global procurement policy in this regard. The implemented solution is based on the client’s SAP software as well as on Kaba’s server technology and Kaba hardware.

Kaba AG is a certified SAP partner and global manufacturer of access control and enterprise data recording solutions. Kaba AG’s generic solution portfolio incorporates access management, workforce management, physical access systems and specialised lock and key systems (including cylinders).

Following a thorough consultation process, AWM360 Data Systems supplied Kaba’s B-Web series terminals with biometric readers for time recording.

“We chose B-Net 9290 and B-Net 9250 controllers, in combination with B-Net 9105 biometric access control terminals, to cover our client’s access control needs – as well as B-Web 9300 series biometric terminals for all time and attendance needs,” says Guenter Nerlich, MD, AWM360 Data Systems. “An SAP-certified integration into their global SAP environment and the Kaba B-COMM ERP 4 SAP solution based in Germany was a necessity.”

AWM360’s client leverages this global infrastructure to enhance its control of resources nationally and internationally. It has also established a working relationship with AWM360 Data Systems, an experienced partner with an unrivalled level of expertise.
