Powell Tronics excels as technology advances

July 2014 News & Events

As a specialist value add distributor, our loyalty and dedication to Impro Technologies, Morpho and Golmar, continues to return great dividends and the ability to unceasingly provide our clients, and in turn the South African and greater African market, with a diverse selection of products designed to keep up with the ever changing world of technology and the market expectations.

With 2014 approaching its halfway mark, and another hugely successful IFSEC SA behind us, we at Powell Tronics reflect on the innovative strides taken by each of our suppliers this year with the release of their latest products, geared with pioneering technologies.

United in a team whose experience and skill level have no equivalent in the industry, experts from Morpho and Bioscrypt joined forces to design the best of breed fingerprint identification terminals.

Tailored for both access control and time & attendance applications, the MorphoAccess SIGMA Series implements no fewer than 20 patents to master biometric identification and deliver a host of additional features. With its tablet-like user experience, videophone function, anti-fraud fake finger and face detection, duress finger, full set of contactless technologies (including NFC) and time and attendance features, it is no surprise that it won the Best of Biometrics Award at the 2014 New Product Showcase (NPS) held by the Security Industry Association at ISC West.

The MorphoTablet product is an enterprise class, touch-sensitive device which adds the security of biometrics (fingerprint + face) and cryptographic functions to mobile operations. It offers the perfect platform for mobility, versatility and data security, enabling you to deliver trusted services in any sector, anytime, anywhere. At a glance the features are:

* Android-based tablet with incorporated FBI PIV IQS and STQC certified optical fingerprint sensor.

* Tamper-proof hardware, cryptographic functions and secure device management.

* Integrated NFC and contact/contactless smartcard readers.

* Cellular (voice & data), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communication.

Ready-to-host customer-specific developments or pre-loaded with Morpho proprietary applications

Morpho is revolutionising our day-to-day life, bringing convenience and time saving to a life on-the-move. With mobile applications involving increasingly sensitive data, it is absolutely imperative that every transaction and all data, remain secure: mobility must not threaten security.

Impro’s Access Portal Lite launched earlier this year is a small but powerful, fully embedded Web solution, accessible from any smart mobile device. The advanced hardware design allows for quick and easy installation while allowing the flexibility of the ultimate in-field configuration and variety of compatible reader options. This cost effective system offers advanced features such as 1000 tagholder capacity, up to 100 000 buffered transactions up to eight anti-passback doors and a range of Web reports – everything required to secure and manage small to medium premises.

From Golmar, the new PoE powered M700 video monitor is a Beoview full IP solution for intercom communication in luxury homes, residential buildings and office buildings. Thanks to its latest technology and Peer2Peer facilities, M700 monitors do not require a server to be function over a LAN connection. Due to its multi channel feature, this system will never be engaged or inaccessible and the touch capacitive screen displaying large icons makes it user friendly especially for the visually impaired and elderly users.

This exclusive product boasts of it is high end materials such as glass 7-inch touch screen, metal aluminium frames combined with high-fidelity full-duplex audio communication and real time video streaming. Other features such as missed calls image memory, intercommunication between apartments, call transfer to concierge / monitor, self activation of door entry panels, reception of text messages from PC-Soft software have made this range of intercoms a preferred choice with many high end building consultants.

Mike Austen, advises that his enthusiastic national sales team is fully equipped to assist, consultants and the trade with enquires on any of the above products.
