Driving sales through value

June 2014 News & Events

With an African network of over 100 distribution and integration partners, specialising in various sectors, we aim to deliver on specific integrator and end-user needs.

We chose Suprema because of the quality of products and their willingness and flexibility to work together to address African demands. With over 20 years’ experience in biometric system implementations in Africa, we can effectively plan and implement such systems.

About Suprema

Suprema, Inc. is a leading provider of biometric technology and identity management solutions and is continually expanding its strong presence and international accolades based on its world-class technology and renowned reliability.

The company’s range of products include biometric access control and T&A systems, live-scanners, e-passport readers and fingerprint OEM modules. Suprema has sold over 1 000 000 products worldwide through its distribution network in over 110 countries and is one of a kind listed on the South Korea stock exchange.

In 2013, Suprema was ranked as one of the Top 50 Security Companies. The World’s Top 50 Security Companies are annually recognised by A&S International magazine based on official financial statements as well as technology/products.

The difference

What differentiates the Suprema brand is the quality and value for money of its extensive range of products that address most biometric and identity solution needs under one roof.

With its Access Control and T&A portfolio, Suprema was one of the first to offer a fully-fledged IP-based system, eliminating the need for external controllers, while still supporting it through widely used Wiegand and RS-485 protocols. Its range currently consists of 11 terminals that satisfy needs for various card types (Proximity, Mifare, HID) as well as fingerprint or facial recognition. It is one of the few biometric manufacturers that also offer card only terminals, enabling easy hybrid implementations, all managed with the same interface. It further offers the off-the-shelf BioStar access control and T&A software package free of charge for minimum requirement implementations, and the paid for Standard edition for medium to enterprise size implementations. For custom solution providers, the BioStar SDK is provided, which gives access to all device functionality across the full range.

Should the range of terminals not offer what is needed, Suprema’s SFM OEM modules allow engineers to develop their own access control, T&A, POS, kiosk or other specialised terminals using Suprema’s award winning fingerprint hardware and algorithms.

For specialised civil and criminal identity solutions, it offers a range of fingerprint livescan and passport reading devices. This identity solution range satisfies all FBI and ICAO compliance and certification requirements.
