Fire Beam Xtra covers up to 160 metres

October 2019 Products & Solutions, Fire & Safety

The Fire Beam overcomes traditional beam detection challenges where building movement and accessibility made beam detection unreliable and laborious to commission and maintain – especially in large open areas.

Advanced motorised technology enables the Fire Beam to self-align and retain alignment when building movement occurs. Using a low-level controller along with motorisation allows for commissioning, adjusting and maintaining the beam from ground level.

The design optics of the new Fire Beam Xtra range reduces the number of reflectors previously required. The standard Xtra detector covers up to 70 metres. Add the mid-range distance kit to cover distances between 70 and 140 metres, or the long range distance kit for distances between 140 and 160 metres.

The very low power usage of only 3.5 mA allows the beam to be loop powered in certain cases, transforming the conventional detector into an intelligent unit.

All moving optics are safely encased inside the IP65 waterproof enclosure. IP65 also ensures no ingress, making the Fire Beam Xtra ideal for hostile environments such as food processing facilities, as it can be hosed down. The Fire Beam Xtra is VDS approved to EN 54-12:2015.
