PoPI-compliant identity scanner

Identiscan is a web-based, PoPI-compliant visitor access system, targeted primarily at residential estates and complexes. Using a 2D bar code scanner, the encrypted barcode from a driver’s licence, South African ID card, green ID book and vehicle licence disc is scanned.

The system records the visitor’s name, surname and ID number, and the make, model, colour and registration number of their vehicle, in addition to their destination and the reason for their visit – selectable from a pre-loaded dropdown list. It allows the operator to call the destination from the device while standing next to the driver, and lift the entrance boom directly from the scanner once the visitor’s information has been scanned.

Identiscan provides a secure platform to process and store visitor information under PoPI compliance. It allows the user to login to their profile and draw visitor access reports using any of the data fields scanned.
