Retail-centric products

1 February 2019 Retail (Industry), Perimeter Security, Alarms & Intruder Detection, Products & Solutions

When it comes to planning and securing retail environments, there are a host of products users can choose from. Stefan Wiese, CTO of StratTech, highlights four that have found themselves appreciated in various developments.

Perimeter intrusion

When it comes to perimeter protection, FLIR’s Cameleon V5 Enterprise is off-the-shelf perimeter intrusion detection software that can be configured to meet challenging requirements, with flexible workspace layouts and support for multiple monitors. The architecture allows for the addition of new devices and systems using IP connectivity without modifying the core software. In addition, clients can simultaneously log into multiple servers with intelligent user interfaces which automates operator actions.

The integration of complex systems is made easy with the Cameleon V5 Enterprise with operational features from third-party systems. It also supports advanced device features and bi-directional communications.

Planning with Raven

On the enterprise level, the Raven is a professional site planning application that empowers planners and integrators with thermal security camera simulation and Google Maps layout ability. FLIR has created this industry standard application to meet the needs of its commercial and retail clients. With the overlay imagery, your future site plan can be imported and overlaid onto Google Maps before placing your cameras.

Hydra Pro

Hydra Pro is the newest innovation of the Hydra targeted surveillance platform using thermal radar’s 360-degree intrusion detection capabilities combined with edge-based ‘slew to cue’ action of a high resolution PTZ for target confirmation and forensics. The Hydra Pro is a mid-range solution for operationally relevant areas where detection distances are no greater than 200 m.

Thermal radar provides continuous and persistent 360-degree scanning for thermal intrusion detection with sophisticated analytics which can classify a detection as a human or vehicle. The Hydra Pro incorporates an IR illuminated PTZ for surveillance capabilities.

It is a perfect fit for storage yards, parking lots, electric substations, construction areas, and warehouses.

ProTectaDNA

With the birth of technology like the ProTectaDNA synthetic DNA marking systems, previous physical security solutions such as locks, barriers, smoke or fog protection systems can be replaced with a single, cost-effective solution to place any perpetrator on the scene of the crime by means of an irrefutable link to the crime that can be submitted in a court of law as evidence. These systems have been successfully implemented in various market segments with great results.
