Dahua smart locks

March 2018 Access Control & Identity Management, Products & Solutions

Dahua Technology has released a new series of smart locks, the Bluetooth series and Bluetooth and wireless 433 series to bring enhanced and more convenient protection to people.

Keys to traditional locks easily get lost and duplicated, and residents cannot remotely open or close doors when necessary. The compact Dahua smart lock combines a mechanical lock case with an electronic motor in the panel. Locks with 8 mm-square-bar lock bodies can be upgraded to Dahua smart locks without dismantling their original lock bodies, just install the new lock inners and outer panels.Dahua smart locks come in two colours: silver and black. Below are some of their technical highlights.

- Pick resistance: Grade B lock cylinder with pick-resistant lock body make them hard to pick open.

- Forced-entry resistance: Made of Zinc alloy, the metal part of Dahua smart locks supports IK08 protection level. Security is guaranteed by the solid build of the locks.

- Convenient unlock when necessary: Although smart locks make it harder to break in, they are more convenient to unlock when required via four different methods: key, card, password and Bluetooth.

- The Bluetooth & wireless 433 series products support a fifth way of unlocking – remote unlock. When paired with VTO2111D-WP (433) outdoor Wi-Fi station, you can open the door for your guests from far away via the DMSS app on your cellphone.

- Strong safety mechanisms: Encrypted cards are much harder to copy than common ones or keys, offering a certain level of duplication resistance. For passwords, you can enter random numbers before or after your password combination to ensure password privacy. Additionally, users can also use a Bluetooth connection which is compatible with the encryption algorithm for secured communication.

New master access controller

Dahua has also announced a new master access controller, the ASC2204C-H, is a good choice for large-scale projects such as business parks, office buildings, banks, prisons, libraries, commercial centres. The following features offer you security control in a simpler, smarter and more cost effective way.

The master access controller allows third-party integration with ONVIF Profile C, CGI or SDK. It is equipped with an alarm with eight zones, synchronising NTP, DST, and P2P.

The system can also work offline to ensure uninterrupted operation.

The controller can perform many useful functions. In terms of storage, it supports 200 000 valid cards and 150 000 records. To keep large areas safe, the master controller is designed with global anti-passback and global multi-door interlock, meaning any door in the system can be set up with an anti-passback rule.

Slave controllers

Using the Controller Area Network (CAN bus), each master controller can cascade 16 slave controllers (ASC2104B-T/ASC2102B-T) and manage up to 68 doors, which reduces the IP addresses required and cable costs. Each slave controller supports 20 000 users and 30 000 offline logs and its slide design is smart and convenient. Given CAN bus communication and an adjustable transmission rate, the slave controller supports all Dahua readers as well as third-party Wiegand 26/34bit readers.
