Dahua uses Theia 4K lenses

October 2017 Products & Solutions, Surveillance

Dahua Technology has adopted Theia’s 4K lens family in its IPC-HF81230E Ultra HD box camera. Theia Technologies is an IP video surveillance lens specialist.

Dahua’s Ultra HD box camera delivers four times the resolution of standard HDTV 1080p cameras and improves the clarity of magnified scenes. With Sony’s STARVIS image sensor, which increases the pixel size to 1,85 μm, the camera is capable of delivering 4K resolution video even under lowlight environment. This makes the camera ideal for video surveillance applications that require low-illumination performance together with high definition.

The varifocal lens family covers a horizontal field of view from 112 to 9 degrees. The lenses maintain 4K resolution in day and night with less than 5 microns focus shift in near IR light. The lenses are compact, given their large format, at only 52 mm long. Compared to other commonly found 1/1,7-inch format 4K lenses with similar features, they are much smaller, allowing them to fit into smaller enclosures.

The CS mount lenses are available in manual, DC-auto versions; fully motorised, board and C mount versions are also available.
