ADI Global Distribution SA recently held its 2017 expo at the Indaba Hotel in Fourways, Johannesburg. Apart from the team of ADI employees, the expo was made up of over 25 security suppliers in the ADI catalogue, which hosted visitors on their tabletop stands.

Word from the exhibitors and ADI itself is that the event was a great success with a steady stream of visitors over the two days of the event. The exhibitors at the show were a who’s who of top manufacturers and vendors, from Arecont Vision through to Xtralis.

Some of the products on display at the event included Arecont’s new multi-sensor 12 MP and 20 MP cameras, batteries from Power-Sonic, and Eaton’s covering power and fire safety solutions.

As can be expected, Hikvision was represented by its camera technology as well as its parking and traffic solutions. Not to be outdone, Axis Communications was also on the show with a smattering of its latest technology, while Forbatt SA had a large display with its batteries as well as its Kedacom surveillance kit, specifically its human recognition solution. NUUO was talking about its hardware and management software, matched by Milestone’s open platform software display.

Access solutions was ably represented by companies like Suprema, Ideco and HID, as well as Dutch company Nedap which had a few new products on display. On the storage side, both Seagate and WD were at the show with their surveillance-specific hard drives, and Promise Technology showcased its storage solutions.

The alarm and intruder detection markets were represented by companies from Axxess-E to GJD and Takex, while TrendNet was on hand to talk about its communications solutions.

As has become the norm, the exhibitions at the ADI Expo were complemented by a variety of presentations over the course of the event, which provided visitors with additional insight into current security trends and technical solutions.

The overall opinion of the people Hi-Tech Security Solutions spoke to, both visitors and exhibitors, was positive. The exhibitors were pleased with the number of visitors passing through, the visitors with the brands available and the people representing them, while ADI expressed satisfaction with the expo as a whole.
