The Heluevent Hybrid is the latest media technology cable available from Helukabel. The cable combines video, audio and electrical components and is highly flexible at the same time. The cable’s primary use is for control desks and mixing consoles, but can also be used in cameras with multiple outlets. It can be employed in studios, on stages or in building services and safety engineering, such as security cameras in trains.
It contains four cables: two Helukat 200 cables for data transmission, one JZ-500 control cable for power supply, and a 75 ohm 1.0/4.6 coax cable for the video signal. The challenge for the engineers in Windsbach was the high flexibility requirement as this is hard to implement for hybrid cables. After many tests in Helukabel’s testing centres, the optimal chemical combination was finally found allowing the cable to be highly flexible.
The cable is halogen-free as well as flame-retardant and can therefore be installed in buildings. Special sheath materials also make the cable suitable for outdoor applications. Additionally, it is resistant to oxygen, UV and microbes.
