Hawk long range radio transmitter

Building on its reputation as a developer and manufacturer of high-quality products that provide secured wireless communication between monitored sites and responding control centres, FSK Electronics SA has launched the new Hawk long-range VHF radio transmitter.

Hawk is the evolution of its highly successful predecessors – the 515X, 5X Informer and the TX75X. Its development represents the company’s strategic approach to meeting changing customer demand, with a number of new features that include a serial interface, universal hard wired options and extended range.

Andrew Stead, national sales manager at FSK, says that the features provide customers with a cost-effective solution that is geared towards enhanced productivity and communication levels. The serial interface means that the Hawk is compatible with most third-party alarm panels, such as Rhino, Texecom, Paradox, Pima and IDS. This gives installers high levels of flexibility on site as they merely need to activate the push button selecting between the various panel options.

In addition, the Hawk offers Contact ID interface and hard wired options suitable for any installation. This results in substantial savings in both time and costs as a result of a simplified ordering process and a reduction in the need to maintain high levels of stock.

“Another way in which the Hawk saves money for customers is that it can now protect much larger areas, with 99 partition and 999 zones catered for, including bypassing of zone reporting. This effectively reduces the amount of hardware required and lessens the network fees associated with larger sites,” Stead points out.

The Hawk leverages existing tried and trusted FSK technology – the FSK Multi-Router TCP. This VHF to GSM repeater and base-station configuration is reputed for its ability to reliably send security messages to customer control rooms.

“Adopting the all-on-board philosophy synonymous with FSK products, Hawk allows one product to support hard wired, contact ID and serial connection for the ultimate in user flexibility. Launched at the Securex 2016 exhibition in late May, we had an amazing response to the Hawk and we have now begun to roll out the launch to the rest of sub-Saharan Africa. The excitement of a new all-in-one VHF transmitter is proving to be a resounding success,” Stead concludes.
