ViRDI launches AC2200 series

March 2016 Access Control & Identity Management, Products & Solutions

ViRDI Distribution SA has launched the AC2200 series biometric fingerprint terminals. The unit has been in development for close on three years and has gone through various evolutions to cater for changing market demands and requirements.

The AC2200 will be available in two variants with sub-variants in every SKU to cater for the main proximity card technologies, 125 kHz RF and 13.56 MHz SmartCard / Mifare. All features will be duplicated and be available in both variants. The standard model caters for 1500 fingerprint users with two fingerprints per user (3000 templates) and the ‘H’ model caters for 5000 users with two fingerprints per user (10 000 templates).

The AC2200 series is a slimline IP65 rated unit with a 640 x 480-pixel embedded camera, Bluetooth and ViRDI’s patented fingerprint scanner with Live & Fake fingerprint detection. Communication protocols are TCP/IP, Wiegand In and Out (bitrate configurable), RS-232 and RS-485 based on the OSDP standard. Apart from using the Bluetooth for MobileKey the unit can also be managed as a standalone unit via the UNIS-B Plus app available from iTunes and Google Play Store. An ARM9 400 MHz processor with 64 MB DDR RAM Memory assures fast authentication and identification as well as a 100 000 log capacity. The AC2200 series will be available in South Africa from Q2 2016.
