Intelligent fingerprint terminal

1 January 2016 Products & Solutions, Access Control & Identity Management

The CEM emerald TS300f is an intelligent multifunctional IP access terminal with fully integrated fingerprint biometrics. It is the industry’s most multifunctional touch-screen access terminal with fully integrated fingerprint biometric. The first of its kind, emerald is a touch-screen reader, door controller, VoIP intercom, system terminal and fingerprint module all in a single device.

Equipped with keypad and scramble pad option, the emerald TS300f terminal can provide multiple levels of verification, such as: card only, card + PIN, card + fingerprint, card + PIN + fingerprint and PIN + fingerprint (via special door mode). It provides users with a range of server-based remote applications at the door, which are restricted to certain cardholders who must first swipe their card or ‘card + PIN’. Using secure communications, these remote applications display real-time information and statistics to authorised cardholders such as scheduled visits, card status and change PIN.

The ‘PIN & Fingerprint’ door mode allows using the emerald TS300f terminal without a card, where the user must enter their special designated 6-digit PIN number followed by fingerprint verification. Where necessary, this removes the need for a physical card while maintaining a high level of security at the door.

Fingerprint enrolment is captured and stored via CEM’s AC2000 access control system at the same time as cardholder enrolment. This offers clients a single process and network solution, and eradicates the requirement to purchase a separate biometric reader and software application to link to the access control system.

The emerald TS300f is rated to IP65 therefore suitable for outdoor environments, while IK06 rating provides a high level of impact protection.
