Web-based guard rostering solution

November 2015 Security Services & Risk Management, Access Control & Identity Management

OnGuard has released a web-based guard rostering solution in which guarding companies that use the system benefit by only having to maintain one database for their staff.

Time and attendance has been a big part of OnGuard’s business for some time. All OnGuard systems facilitate time and attendance reporting and as the system is web based, reports can be generated from any Internet connection. Clients may upload their staff files to OnGuard’s server for automatic PSIRA verification.

Attaching photographs to a personnel record has traditionally been a wearisome task as the photographer was not necessarily the personnel clerk. To get it right, the photographer would need to be diligent in naming the photograph in order that the correct photo was attached to the correct individual’s record. Onguard has circumvented this problem by creating an app that interfaces with the OnGuard database. Any appointed manager can download the app, enter the individual’s ID number and snap the photo. The upload is automatic.

Printing ID cards is also a simple matter of one click. Because all the data is stored in one central place, admin clerks need only to attach an ID card printer to their PC or order the cards directly from OnGuard.

Ensuring that sites are correctly staffed at shift change times is traditionally done by a control room that calls each site to verify that the right manpower is on the site. OnGuard simplifies this process. A web page shows the controller which sites are under or overstaffed.

Not all sites demand an OnGuard system and because of this the company developed a cost-effective time and attendance solution. The site can be fitted with an Android tablet running the T&A app. The app requires the employee to enter their PIN and the individual is then clocked in and a photo of the individual is automatically uploaded to the timesheet.

OnGuard does not charge extra for any of the value-added services.
