Biometric logistics controls

November 2015 Access Control & Identity Management, Integrated Solutions

Morpho has a range of products which can be used in different sections of the warehousing environment as well as in logistics. Nicolas Garcia, manager at Morpho, cites the use of normal access control with biometric readers at every entrance of the warehouse, mobile check-in and systems used around the warehousing facilities. A major European freight company has standardised on Morpho from the more traditional access control solutions to the new mobile solutions.

According to Garcia, mobile business and services are revolutionising our day-to-day life, bringing convenience and time savings to a life on-the-move. With mobile applications involving increasingly sensitive data, it is absolutely imperative that every transaction and all data remain secure, therefore mobility must not threaten security.

This is the reason behind Morpho’s development of the MorphoTablet, an enterprise class touch-sensitive device which adds the security of biometrics and crypto-graphic functions to mobile operations. MorphoTablet offers the perfect platform for mobility, versatility and data security.

The MorphoTablet allows for integration into existing access control solutions and cater for all mobile identity verification integration. This means it can be used for visitor management as well as spot checks for security purposes in very secure areas.

MorphoTablet offers a fast, convenient, reliable and customised experience through integration into existing access control systems. It contributes to companies protecting their bottom line and existing systems, as no costly re-development is needed due to the backwards compatibility of the technology with older versions of the Morpho system.

Garcia adds that added value and ROI are promoted through adapting the solution to the customer’s needs, through integration, to make their lives safer and easier.
