Honeywell Security & Fire commits to Africa

October 2015 Editor's Choice, Fire & Safety, News & Events, Integrated Solutions

Honeywell Security & Fire (HSF) has announced a new initiative to expand its business in South Africa and into Africa in the future. Honeywell’s security products have been available in the region for many years through ADI Global Distribution, but the company is now strengthening its local footprint and looking for dedicated companies to support its strategy of expanding into global high-growth areas.

Kevin Pearman, previously with Honeywell Building Solutions, has been appointed as the regional sales leader for South Africa. With years of experience using Honeywell’s security solutions, Pearman says he took the opportunity to move to HSF as it has a global track record of quality products and services, and he looks forward to the challenge of establishing Honeywell as a leading competitor in the region.

He says the company sees Africa as a growth opportunity. It will strengthen and extend its reach in the region by offering a wider portfolio of products and brands that have proved their worth internationally. Some of the brand names include Pro-Watch security management suite, Tridium, a range of fire-related products and more.

Pearman is also on a mission to attract the right companies to assist HSF growth plans. He says the companies he’s looking for need to be committed to the business for the long term. Honeywell puts significant effort into skilling its customers and sharing intellectual property to assist them in delivering the best products and services to the market. It therefore wants companies on board that are willing to commit to long-term win-win strategies.

With the backing of a global company like Honeywell, these companies will become world-class integrators in a few years as they are able to provide services and technology to high-value customers in the world’s largest enterprises.

Pearman sees exciting times ahead for the security and fire industry and invites companies to 'hop on board'. He is already talking to four potential companies in South Africa as well as three in neighbouring countries.

“I’m looking forward to taking the Honeywell brand forward in the region and providing customers with the best, quality technology and support, at competitive prices, all with the backing of the trusted global Honeywell brand,” he concludes.
