Suprema BioStar 2

BioStar 2 is Suprema’s IP access control platform designed for simplicity, convenience and performance. Its cloud-based architecture offers a Web interface using the latest standards, reducing deployment time and can be used from workstations or mobile devices.

The modular architecture of the platform offers expandability to meet all your complex and unique access control solution requirements. BioStar 2 includes a dashboard and monitoring features for a quick overview of all major access control events. The dashboard highlights major access control indicators like event logs, system information, notices and alarms. The automatic update feature enables BioStar 2 to automatically update the server, while firmware updates can be made with a single click via a built-in interface.

Enhanced security features include encryption for communication and sensitive information. The webserver feeds information to client devices using the HTTPS protocol for added security. The communication between server and device is protected using AES encryption and uses a unique key for each connection. The data is protected further using SHA encryption for key values such as PIN and passwords.

The platform handles the user database with biometric information in template format that cannot be reproduced back to fingerprint images. In order to protect the user’s privacy, each template is encrypted using a non-reversible encryption for maximum protection.
