June 2015 Products & Solutions

Linksys announced two new Dual Band smart routers for the South African market. Designed for those looking for a seamless connection and simplified home network, the new Linksys AC1900 Dual-Band Smart Wi-Fi Modem Router (XAC1900) and Linksys AC1200 Dual-Band Smart Wi-Fi Modem Router (XAC1200) are the latest additions to the Linksys EA series line-up featuring a built-in DSL modem.

These modem routers deliver next-generation Wireless-AC technology and dual-band speeds of up to 4.3x faster than Wireless-N for the XAC1900 and up to 2.8x faster for the XAC1200. The XAC1900 also comes with three adjustable, external antennas to optimise Wi-Fi signal throughout the home, providing improved signal strength in those tricky blind spots and allowing for more flexibility. Designed to sustain multiple devices and users, the XAC1900 offers simultaneous dual-band speeds of up to N600 Mbps (2,4 GHz) + AC1300 Mbps (5 GHz) making it great for households who game online, stream high-definition media or who are just looking for a quick web experience. It also features an upgraded CPU that delivers speeds of up to 800 Mhz.

Ensuring smooth streaming and file sharing capability, the XAC1200 reaches speeds of up to N300 Mbps (2,4 GHz) + AC867 Mbps (5 GHz) perfect for fast downloads of large video or music files and quicker syncing. Both the XAC1200 and XAC1900 can act as traditional wireless routers by connecting the Ethernet port to a cable modem if needed.

Key features:

• Next-generation Wireless AC.

• Built-in Linksys APM103 ADSL2+ Power Modem.

• 3 external antennas on the XAC1900 model.

• Linksys Smart Wi-Fi software.

• Advanced Beamforming Technology.

• USB 3.0 transfer rates.

• Easy set up.
