IP-CON spreads its wings

February 2015 News & Events

Wireless IP convergence company MiRO is taking its popular IP-CON free expo and training programme one step further in 2015. IP-CON, which leverages the convergence of all IP technology – wireless, VoIP and video and how it all works together to create new opportunities in the wireless/IP industry – will not only be hosted in three-week cycles in all the major South African centres, but will also take the form of a condensed two-day workshop in Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, Windhoek and Gaborone.

CEO Bertus van Jaarsveld explains that each of the company’s suppliers will be allocated a three-week period over 11 months in 2015 to share technical information with both MiRO’s team as well as with customers.

The first two weeks of each cycle are dedicated to in-house MiRO training to ensure that each member of the team is familiarised with all relevant products within the supplier’s range. The final week of the programme is dedicated to free half-day workshops and live demonstrations for MiRO customers.

In the run-up to each event, which is concurrently held at each of MiRO’s countrywide branches in Cape Town, Durban, Nelspruit and Gauteng, an advertising and promotions campaign on each supplier brand will provide up to date information on programme dates and products that will be highlighted.

The current schedule is: NUUO – 2-6 February; Xclaim – 23-27 February; SIAE – 16-20 March; RADWIN – 7-10 April; SUNELL, Milestone and NUUO – 4-8 May; Deliberant and LigoWave – 25-29 May; VIVOTEK, Milestone and NUUO – 15-19 June; Grandstream – 6-10 July; Fibre – 27-31 July; Networking – 17-21 August; MikroTik – 7-11 September; Digium and Switchvox – 28 September-2 October; Ubiquiti – 19-23 October; EnGenius – 9-13 November; Convergence – 30 November-4 December.

The two-day events in Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, Windhoek and Gaborone combine all the major elements of the various IP-CON sessions into eight condensed sessions, hosted by specialists in wireless, networking, VoIP and video. These will take place in Port Elizabeth from 15-16 April, Gaborone from 22-23 April, Bloemfontein from 5-6 August and Windhoek from 12-13 August.

“The IP-CON events allow us to showcase the latest technologies from our suppliers and provide customers with an overview on how to combine these technologies to create solutions to their client’s needs. Our experienced trainers will cover a variety of topics including the latest offerings in the market from each brand, and how the convergence of these technologies can create new opportunities for them,” says Van Jaarsveld.

“We are targeting corporate network engineers, Internet service providers, product managers, project managers, CCTV installers, VoIP service providers, wireless ISPs, installers, resellers, companies with wireless, networking, VoIP and IP surveillance related products and services, as well as CEOs and MDs interested in taking their companies to the next level in technology,” Van Jaarsveld explains.
