Canon Europe has announced eight new Full HD and 1.3 MP network cameras that combine developments in hardware design, such as improved PTRZ accuracy and resistance, and enhanced control abilities, with the latest analytics and dual streaming capabilities to meet the market’s most demanding monitoring needs.
The new H-series (Full HD) comprises the VB-H43 PTZ, VB-H630VE vandal-resistant dome, VB-H630D fixed dome and VB-H730F fixed box cameras, whilst the M-series (1.3MP) includes the VB-M42 PTZ, VB-M620VE vandal-resistant dome, VB-M620D fixed dome and VB-M720F fixed box models.

The eight new network cameras are designed to balance low light performance, wide-angle views and high resolution with ease of use.
• The Full HD VB-H43 and 1.3 MP VB-M42: Pan, Tilt and Zoom cameras offering 20x optical / 12x digital zoom, providing a wide 60.4° angle of view.
Both models are equipped with a built-in temperature sensor and new bearings to ensure consistently accurate focus and enhanced durability. The new Relative Speed Mode automatically adjusts the Pan/Tilt speed relative to the camera’s zoom position, enabling more accurate control and more responsive tracking of subjects throughout the camera’s field of view.
• The Full HD VB-H630VE and 1.3 MP VB-M620VE: These vandal-resistant dome cameras meet industry IP66 standards for dust and water protection. Offering an ultra-wide angle of view (111.0°) and 3x optical / 4x digital zoom, these models also have an advanced PTRZ installation function, helping to simplify initial set-up for system integrators. Once installed, the newly improved PTRZ mechanism ensures that these cameras are far more resistant to adverse environments than ever before.
• The Full HD VB-H630D and 1.3 MP VB-M620D: These fixed dome cameras offer an ultra-wide angle of view (111.0°), 3x optical / 4x digital zoom lens and feature the same improved PTRZ mechanism, delivering greater monitoring flexibility in indoor environments.
• The Full HD VB-H730F and the 1.3 MP VB-M720F: These versatile box cameras offer the widest angle of view of the range (112.6°), 3x optical / 4x digital zoom lens, superb video quality and excellent low-light performance.
Both the H-series and the M-series offer high-quality monitoring with detailed images and up to 15 intelligent analytic functions, giving these cameras a competitive edge. The built-in analytics offer detection of movement, abandoned objects, removed objects, camera tampering, passing and volume detection. Both series also feature Auto Smart Shade Control, which automatically selects the optimum exposure level. This feature helps ensure customers can achieve quality recordings and detection, even in difficult lighting conditions.
The inclusion of dual imaging and network processors, DIGIC DV III and DIGIC NET II, means each step of the imaging process – capturing, processing encoding and transmitting – can be performed seamlessly. The cameras also feature a removable IR cut filter, offering a true day/night solution.
The new cameras benefit from Canon’s 70-year heritage as a high quality lens manufacturer, with vast experience in developing network cameras that deliver exceptional image quality in all light conditions. Canon’s network cameras are simple to install, compatible with ONVIF Profile S and are supported by an extensive warranty programme. The new cameras will be available from December 2014.
