Electrified perimeter protection

August 2014 Perimeter Security, Alarms & Intruder Detection

Harper Chalice’s PulseSecure and FenceSecure electronic perimeter intrusion detection systems are deployed around the world for the protection of all types of risks. Coupled with GJD’s range of external PIR and Dual-Tech motion detectors a comprehensive product offering is now available that offers the first and second lines of defence for any perimeter security requirement.

The PulseSecure technology not only deters would-be intruders with the threat of a painful, but regulated safe electric shock, it provides highly accurate warning of all attempts to break into a site, allowing for a planned security response to be triggered should any genuine attack occur. The system has proved itself so successful at the Huddersfield site that the customer is now considering using it at other locations across the UK, as it continues to expand.

PulseSecure monitors the protected boundary with high voltage pulses on or off. PulseSecure Protector systems are fully monitored 'double pole' high and low voltage electrified perimeter security systems. The detection barrier is therefore fully monitored with the high voltage deterrent pulses switched on or off. Due to the ‘true’ low voltage system design, when the system is ‘disarmed’ and the HV pulses turned off, the HT wires continue to be fully monitored although no shock is present if touched – if the wire is cut, shorted or tampered with then the system will still generate an alarm state, in the same way as when the HV pulses are present.

The FenceSecure fence-mounted perimeter intrusion detection system can be applied to all types of security fencing systems and toppings to provide early warning of any intrusion attempt. FenceSecure systems have a proven track record for the protection of all types of risk from normal commercial risks from: industrial estates; factories; garages; warehouses; storage compounds; logistics depots; car storage compounds to military and government premises, prisons etc., to the protection of critical national infrastructure sites. The systems provide zone alarm outputs for integration with CCTV and other remote monitoring technologies. The FenceSecure systems can be installed on security fences to monitor penetration or climbing of the security fence together with PulseSecure to provide an electrified topping system that ensures the highest level of intruder detection and deterrent.
