Streamlined door entrance for Toyota

June 2014 Access Control & Identity Management

Pedestrian Door Solutions (PDS) specialists, ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, supplied Besam Unislide door equipment for seven Toyota dealerships based in Gauteng, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal.

“We received the orders from our respective customers who supplied the shop fronts for the respective dealerships in Bronkhorstspruit, Nigel, Midrand, Brits, Secunda and Greenstone as part of new as well as revamped facilities,” explains ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems managing director, André Aiton. More recently, the PDS team travelled to Pongola to install a Besam Unislide Bi-parting door at the new Toyota dealership.

When expanding, upgrading or building new premises, there are a number of important factors on which Toyota will not compromise. These include the safety and comfort of customers and personnel as well as environmental considerations. The company extends its best practices adopted throughout the vehicle supply chain to the construction of its facilities with careful attention to criteria such as quality, reliability, environmental friendliness and aesthetics.

The Besam Unislide system was the perfect fit because this entrance solution addresses all these criteria paramount to Toyota. The system operates quietly and allows convenient and easy pedestrian flow. With safety high on the agenda, the standard automated door specification is combined with an ‘emergency open’ system via the battery as well as a fire alarm system for fast, easy evacuation. Aiton adds that this system can also be fitted with a breakout system which, in the case of an emergency, allows the doors to be hinged in the open position.

Effective climate control is another advantage offered by the Besam entrance solution. The stand open time of the sliding doors can be set to avoid draughts and prevent the air-conditioned atmosphere from escaping. In addition to ensuring a stable and comfortable internal temperature, the air-conditioning consumes less energy, which reduces demand on the national grid. A lower electricity bill is another plus factor.

Aiton cites reasons why ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems was the preferred supplier of the Besam Unislide entrance solution at all seven dealerships. “Firstly, the multi-featured product speaks for itself, presenting benefits such as secure, comfortable and convenient access without detracting from the aesthetics of the building. Secondly, our customers were able to specify our products for the dealership shop fronts with confidence because they regularly use our products and are thus familiar with the related benefits delivered by our product offering, supported by our high service standards. Finally, our competitive pricing presents a highly affordable, end-to-end, quality entrance solution second to none.”
