One distributor for all markets

May 2014 News & Events

The days of distributors in the security industry simply moving boxes is over. While there are still occasions that customers know what they want and don’t want any further assistance, more integrators and installers are relying on their distributors to add value with design, technical and project management skills.

To be able to service its customers in all markets, from small installers to large integrators involved in complex rollouts, Elvey Security Technologies, part of the Hudaco Group, has taken the plunge and moved its headquarters to a new location in Greenstone.

Elvey’s CEO, Jack Edery says the new HQ, Elvey Techno Park, will empower the company and Pentagon, a specialist distributor that is part of the Elvey Group, to deliver the type of service customers require in the 21st century. “Whether they need one product or are involved in large projects and need assistance, we are in the best position to help.”

These changes are a result of Elvey’s commitment to making 2014 a year of focusing intently on meeting its customers’ needs. This focus has seen Elvey deciding to run its own nationwide exhibitions where customers can gain a complete overview of what the company has to offer and build relationships with the relevant people, as well as many suppliers who will be at the shows.

“Our roadshow is only a starting point, however,” Edery maintains. “Elvey will be holding regular customer events at our new premises where we can devote the time and attention to getting to know our customers and their business requirements. Once again, we will ensure our suppliers and specialists are also on hand to interact with customers to broaden the knowledge network of our customers.”

Demonstrating value

To assist customers in servicing their clients optimally, Elvey Techno Park will contain a demonstration area in which they can see the latest security technology at work. This will not only allow customers to see the products working, but also assure them that the capabilities of the product will meet the needs of their clients.

Furthermore, a new training centre has been built within the new headquarters that will allow customers to gain first-hand knowledge of the products they sell; thereby adding to the value they can offer their clients. Elvey Techno Park also sports a new and improved repair centre that promises quick and reliable service. The repair centre is staffed with skilled technicians qualified to handle almost all repair jobs, including out of warranty repairs.

“Of course, one of the primary responsibilities of a distributor is to ensure that our customers are able to get the products they want when they need them,” Edery explains. “Elvey Techno Park will therefore also have an Elvey and pentagon trade counter and double the warehouse space available for products to ensure we can deliver a service that meets and exceeds our customers’ expectations.”

Elvey on tour

Customers and potential customers wishing to learn more about Elvey and the range of products it supplies are welcome to attend one of Elvey’s events. Events will be held in the following locations:

12 – 13 May 2014 in Port Elizabeth

20 – 21 May 2014 in Cape Town
