Miro builds a new head office

May 2014 News & Events

Since its inception in 2001, Miro has grown into one of South Africa’s leading distributors of IP communication products, including wireless networks, voice over IP, data networking and IP video products. Miro’s growth has resulted in an expansion of its workforce and a need for more space to house staff, services and stock.

Miro embarked on a property development project in 2013 to develop a custom-made facility to house its growing operation supporting sales in 13 countries in the southern African region.

The new Miro building, situated a stone’s throw from its existing office in Midrand, was designed and built for Miro, and officially opened in the middle of March. “The building was built to our specifications and requirements, and is custom fit to our business,” explains Bertus van Jaarsveld, CEO of Miro. “It is not only a new building, it is a statement: Miro is here to stay. We are not just renting a warehouse, but rather continuing to invest in South Africa, and this extends to developing and building our own premises. This proves that we are serious about the local market – and our role within the southern African region.”

The new building will make business easier for Miro staff and customers alike. With a much larger showroom and warehouse, Miro will now have enough space for all of its products, more effectively catering to the growing local demand as well as further African expansion. Dedicated demo rooms for each product category have been allocated for meetings and product demonstrations, and the large warehouse will boast specialty areas to cater for compliance modifications as well as assembly and kitting.

While the new building will also provide more space for the com-pany’s growing staff complement and better flow between departments, the jewel in the crown is the custom-built training centre where Miro will present regular certified training on its comprehensive product range. Two training venues on the premises will ensure that Miro’s growing training department can effectively service any training requirements the company’s customers may have.

“Clients will also now have access to more regular product launches and demonstrations, and many of our training and information events will be free. We have also added a coffee shop on site, so that customers can relax in between meetings and training, and have ensured that there is more than ample parking.”

Miro official distributor of Deliberant and LigoWave

Deliberant Inc, recently appointed Miro as an official distributor for its Deliberant and LigoWave products in southern Africa.

“We felt that Miro’s reputation as a valued supplier to South Africa and other countries in the region would benefit those seeking our products there,” said Bill Brown, the spokesperson for Deliberant when asked why the company decided to partner with Miro. He added that Deliberant “strives to enlist quality channel partners that have experience in both PTP and PTMP technologies to support the Deliberant and LigoWave brands before and after the sale.”

According to Jan Keyser, product manager at Miro, there are very few products available that can offer TDMA functionality (guaranteed performance on PTMP systems) at such a cost-effective price point. Deliberant and LigoWave offer a very powerful central management software platform (WNMS) at no charge to its customers.
