Lifestyle Design Technology launches the eLite

April 2014 News & Events

LifeStyle Design Technology, a technology-based manufacturer better known for its energy and lighting products has taken over manufacturing and supply of Bartronic remote controls and security products after acquiring the IP of Bartronic Security Systems. In the near future, LifeStyle will be bringing new products to the security industry alongside its energy and lighting products.

The first product launched is a unique Eskom award-winning low-voltage lighting device that uses the infrastructure of a standard wired alarm system for its installation. This patented light, named eLite Passive is connected directly to the passive of a standard wired alarm system with no modifications to its wiring, the sensor or the alarm system. Should several eLites be connected to the alarm unit then a simple upgraded power charger and battery will cover the extra current consumption used by these extra eLites.

In operation, the eLites will pick up the movement from the passive sensor signal wire and switch on the eLite. As long as there is movement, the eLite will be powered up. With no movement, after 10 minutes they slowly fade out. When the mains power fails, the battery or upgraded battery will take over and still light up the area when movement is detected.

A few benefits of the eLites are:

* Energy efficient movement activated lighting.

* Very cost effective as no extra sensors or wiring is needed.

* Improves camera recordings in low-light areas.

* A useful early warning indication that there is someone in the house or office, should the owner see them when arriving on the site.

* A well-light room is a deterrent to criminals.

* Provides lighting for the end customer during power failures.

* Improves the installers’ bottom line of every alarm installation with a new line of products.
