IFSEC SA wins EXSA award

January 2014 News & Events

For the second consecutive year IFSEC SA has won an award – Best Trade Show (6001 m² – 12 000 m² in extent) – at the annual Exhibition and Event Association of Southern Africa (EXSA) Awards Banquet. Held at the Expo Centre (Nasrec) in southern Johannesburg on 21 November 2013, the EXSA Awards represent a highlight for member companies associated with exhibitions.

Founded in 1980 as a non-profit organisation representing venues, organisers, exhibition designers, stand builders, service companies and associate organisations, EXSA’s core strategy is to actively grow and develop the exhibition and events industry within southern Africa. This is achieved through promoting the unique benefits offered by exhibitions and events, and raising the profile of its members who include venues, organisers and suppliers.

EXSA membership adds credibility, status and integrity to its members through the membership qualifying criteria and adherence to the Code of Ethics. “As a member of EXSA, UBM Montgomery (organisers of the IFSEC SA show) is required to attain and retain specific standards and ethics. This provides our exhibitors with the reassurance that IFSEC SA is in line not only with South African standards, but similarly, it has achieved compliance with international exhibition standards,” said IFSEC SA Event Director Charlene Hefer.

Demand for IFSEC SA 2014 show stand space is accelerating as the annual summer holidays approach and 2247 m² of floor space has already been booked. “UMB Montgomery is currently receiving a number of enquiries about available sponsorships and we have once again signed up Ideco Biometric Security Solutions as the sponsor for the Premier Lounge,” Hefer pointed out.

“Each sponsorship provides exhibitors with an added opportunity to promote their products and/or services in a targeted and exclusive manner. We would like to encourage current and potential exhibitors to secure both their stand space, as well as one or more of the remaining sponsorship packages, as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”
