DSC's new touch screen

DSC’s touch screen keypad is an undisputed market leader, says Ingo Mutinelli, sales director at Elvey Security Technologies. “The keypad, which doubles as an electronic picture frame, combines the functionality that consumers and installers have come to expect from DSC, it’s the answer to the question of how to manage and control security systems at the touch of a finger.”

Seamlessly integrated with the DSC PowerSeries range of security systems, the touch screen keypad boasts an intuitive interface, making installation and programming super simple.

Programming can be done via virtual keypad displayed on the new touch screen. Building from the default or optional displays, installers can quickly configure five of the graphical icons from more than 10 options and arrange the icons to suit the user’s particular needs.

The touch screen can be easily customised for users. Should the user elect not to see partitions, but wants to be able to turn the chimes on and off, he simply needs to select the appropriate hide or display icon.

The clutter-free home screen can be modified at any time by the installer through the use of password-protected setting menus. Installers can also customise the home screen background with photos, company logos, contact information and much more.

DSC’s touch screen offers a host of other features too, including large and clearly recognisable onscreen display buttons and intuitive menu-driven screens. Says Mutinelli: “In order to access the fire, auxiliary, panic (FAP) keys, users just have to press the emergency button on the sidebar, after which the LED status lights will provide a quick visual check on the security system.”

Home owners can also enjoy the touch screen’s integrated digital picture frame, which allows them the flexibility of displaying photos singly, as a timed slideshow or as a default background screen. All that’s needed is the insertion of a standard SD card into the SD slot, after which the user can follow the on-screen prompts which are similar to those for ‘off-the shelf’ digital picture frames.
