Africa Policing & Forensic Technologies Summit

July 2013 News & Events

AMC International is hosting the Africa Policing & Forensic Technologies Summit on the 14th–16th August 2013 at the Southern Sun O R Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Africa is a continent with a high crime rate but a staggeringly low conviction rate. Several new technologies are being developed and introduced to aid investigation and arrest process, however inefficiencies have been identified throughout the continent. New technology must be taught to the end user, and that takes time, effort and money. Changing and improving software and programs is part of the progression of effective policing and forensic science and that must be accommodated.

The highlight of this summit lies in its ability to serve as an eye-opener for the police service in the continent, where best practices within the forensic sciences are concerned. This summit seeks to convene world renowned experts in the fields of forensic investigation, forensic technology, crime scene investigation and local law enforcement.

It focuses on the latest technologies being developed in and around policing and forensics as it endeavours to change the way that policing is looked at on the African continent from the initial emergency response phase to the final incarceration. We shall also focus on the policy to operational inter-agency collaboration in Africa while focussing on the benefits of such initiatives in promoting and strengthening forces against cross border and related crimes.

If you operate within the police, military, security, correctional services or intelligence agencies, or are involved in any type of investigation and court presentation that requires the analysis of evidence, then the Africa Policing and Forensics Technologies Summit is the perfect forum for you.

To book your place at this summit, please contact Emmanuel Mwaba on +27 (0)11 341 1000 or mwaba.e@amc-intsa.com.
