The advantages and flexibility of a PTZ have been known for a long time, but without any intelligence built in, crucial events are easily missed. With the introduction of Auto Tracking to the new Dynacolor IPDC20SOPHM 2-megapixel, 20X optical zoom IP PTZ (Dynacolor 720/820 Series), more events can be captured by one PTZ.
In addition to normal functions such as touring, the PTZ can be set to track motion that appears in its field of view. The detection sensitivity can also be set, and tilt and pan limits ensure that the camera never wanders off target. A home function returns the camera to a pre-set position if the camera remains idle, while the guard function can set how long a target is tracked.
The camera is easy to set up via browser interface, and can be powered by High POE for easy installation. ONVIF compliance allows the unit to be used with open NVR platform devices, such as the Mirasys NVR.
