Camsecure secures third Milestone award

July 2012 News & Events

At the Milestone Partner Open Platform (EMPOP) day held in Abu Dhabi on 1-3 May 2012, South African projects-based security technology solutions company Camsecure, once again won the award as Best Milestone Partner in Africa.

“This award is fitting, considering Camsecure is entering its 10th year in business. We have seen the company grow from humble beginnings into a force to be reckoned with. Camsecure is one of Milestone’s longest-standing partners and our largest in Africa, in terms of market coverage and penetration,” said Eric Fullerton, chief sales and marketing officer for Milestone Systems.

At the Partner Open Platform, the company outlined a roadmap for its future development plans, which include a full revamp of the entire Video Management Software (VMS) range, a new version of the mobile apps with added features, an upgraded licence plate recognition system, screen recording software and drivers to record web cameras.

Francois Malan, MD of Camsecure, which has twice previously received the accolade of Milestone Partner of the Year for the African region, said a number of developments will keep Milestone ahead of the pack and make it difficult for any competitors to keep pace with Milestone.

“The conference highlighted a number of new trends as well as the revival of some older trends. In line with this, Milestone has invested US$11-million in research and development in the last 12 months and has set as its goal the intention to be twice the size of its nearest competitor,” Malan said.

“Other general market areas of interest are integrated systems, facial recognition for biometric access analysis; storage of video at the edge, in server rooms or in the cloud; video management systems (VMS) such as Milestone will mature; and video as a service (VAAS) will become commonplace,” said Malan.
